Not strictly an engine of LMS origin, 53808 was designed and built for the Somerset and Dorset Railway in July 1925 by the Midland Railway who as joint owners of the S&D with the London and South Western Railway had responsibility for locomotive policy. Clear Midland influences can be seen with a boiler from Midland Compounds with a Belpaire firebox and Walschaerts valve gear.
53808 is now preserved by the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust and it currently runs on the West Somerset Railway. Seen here at Blue Anchor Station on 27 October 2018.

The LMS Jubilee Class – so called as the first of the class, number 5552, permanently swapped identities with number 5642 which has been named “Silver Jubilee” on 19 April 1935 in recognition of the Silver Jubilee of King George V on 6 May that year.; the change gave the name to the rest of the class.
Four Jubilee Class engines have survived into preservation. Here we see number 45690 Leander in BR Mixed Traffic black livery crossing the Ribblehead Viaduct on the Settle to Carlisle Line on 9 September 2017.
